We are very excited to announce that IRL will be attending AME BC’s Roundup conference in Vancouver again this year!
“Thousands of members of the global mineral exploration and development industry are meeting in Vancouver from Jan. 23 to 26 at the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) Roundup conference. Roundup marks the inaugural event in the exploration year at which we review 2016 exploration work results, celebrate successes, and discuss the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the industry. It is appropriate that AME Roundup is held annually in Vancouver, which is home to 800 public and private mineral exploration and mining companies active in nearly 100 countries around the world. In fact, as of the end of December 2016, there were 702 mineral exploration and mining companies based in British Columbia and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSXV exchanges, up slightly — but encouragingly — from 698 in October. Altogether, B.C.-based companies account for nearly 60% of the public mining companies listed on these exchanges.” — Gavin C. Dirom is the president & CEO of the Association for Mineral Exploration
The conference takes place at Canada Place on January 23 to the 26th and we will have all of the tools of the trade available for sale at our booth, #1120. We hope to see you all there!
Can’t make it to Roundup 2017? That’s ok! You can still purchase the supplies you need through our webstore at www.irlsupplies.com!
We are happy to introduce a new product at our booth this year. Check out the Brunton Axis Pocket Transit Compass! “The Axis was invented by geologists for geologists and features a significant new twist on the pocket transit that is designed especially for easier geological measurements.”
We will also have the Shaw Backpack Drill available for viewing at Roundup again this year! “The handheld drill has been found to be best used as a near-surface initial scanning and mapping tool, often in conjunction with handheld XRF field analyzers (guns). When mineral enrichment is discovered by these means larger drilling equipment can then be efficiently employed to establish vertical definition.”
Of course, we will have the ultimate geology microscope on hand. If you haven’t heard of the Dino-Lite, it is an incredible tool for anyone in the exploration industry. It is a 1.3 megapixel handheld digital microscope with adjustable polarization. Pick one up right now: http://www.irlsupplies.com/product.htm?pid=94743#

“This year’s conference will bring together geoscientists, prospectors, investors, suppliers and First Nation partners to share ideas that will help shape the future of mineral exploration and development. As the mineral exploration and development industry continues to work through the current downturn, we reflect on the importance of networking, professional development and relationship building with our partners, stakeholders and competitors. Mineral deposits are becoming harder to find; we must now travel to more remote locations, search deeper beneath cover, and sometimes settle for lower grades. These aspects, coupled with the challenging market conditions, remind us that we must be more creative and collaborative as we explore to discover and develop new mineral deposits”.
