As staff and management of IRL Supplies we are working to do our part to contain the spread of COVID-19. Internally we have adopted new internal policies to keep the risk to our staff, and therefore our customers, to a minimum. We have done this through creating and reiterating healthy work place habits and strict adherence to social distancing. We have also cancelled all un-necessary work travel for as long as is needed. These new policies are in conjunction with any regulations and suggestions provided by municipal, provincial and federal regulators. As the situation changes frequently, so do our policies, please check back often for more details.

Store Hours

For now both stores are operating under normal store hours, on Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. This may change in the future as the situation in Canada changes daily, if not hourly at times.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are suspending our Saturday opening for spring and summer until further notice. Please contact us during regular hours if you need an order that has to be picked up on Saturday

Shipping for Out of Town Customers

We are temporarily suspending our same day shipping policy for out of town orders. This will allow us to be able to work through orders in a safer manner and limit our contact with shipping companies so that they also may look after the more serious needs of the nation. We will only be shipping orders out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Keeping space in the store

We have marked off spacing on the floor at our front counters to give the needed 2m spacing between our staff and customers. We respectfully ask that customers stay behind the makings while in the store. We have also provided markings through out the store to help people manage the distance between themselves and others more easily.

The rivers are getting low, theres no better time to look for gold with a Gold Cube!

In addition to gold pans, sluices and all the other tools for gold prospecting, IRL is a distributor for the hugely popular Gold Cube, check it out below.

GOLD CUBE

Features:

Technology – Unique Patented process incorporates 3 degrees of separation.

Versatility – Mine placer, beach, crushed ore, free milling ore, mine dump testing and can be set up in the water or off site recirculation.

Portability – Modular design for fast setup and easy exit.  Fit in the trunk yet gets as much gold as machines many times it’s size.

Efficiency – Set it up level, turn on pump, and process 1,000 pounds of 1/8th classified material to a few ounces in minutes.

Durability – Made in America with LDPE (low-density poly) just like your cutting board at home.

There’s no doubt that you will be impressed with the Gold Cube!

3 STACK OR 4 STACK?

When deciding which Gold Cube to use (3 Stack Deluxe or 4 Stack), there are several factors to consider: price; size (footprint); and the type of gold you may encounter. Many gold prospectors with the typical sluice box witness very flat gold (glitter gold) that has the tendency to drift or “sail” over riffles. Flat gold lends itself to slight current manipulation and water surface tension that may allow it to float.

The Gold Cube design eliminates surface tension in what we call the “G-Force Separator”, which forces everything below water under a gate. This breaks the surface tension and forces the gold to the bottom of an axial trough. The combination of gravity and hydraulic pressure makes it impossible for the gold to float or sail.

To illustrate this — If you were to drop a flat washer and a steel bearing, both weighing the same, into a swimming pool at the same time, the steel bearing would hit bottom, first. In the same way, the flatter the gold; the more time it takes to settle.

Location is not the only factor to be aware of, though we have found that there are areas where the gold is typically very flat. Keep in mind, it is all about the shape of the gold, and not where it is located. Many placer areas close to the source have gold that is chunky, roundish, and not flat.  If you plan to limit your mining to this type of area, then a 3 Stack may be your machine. You can add a tray, later, if you decide to go to the beach or find a tailings pile with super-fine gold.

The beauty of the Gold Cube is that you can always add a tray, trommel, or a Gold Banker when it becomes necessary.

How It Works:

1st Degree of Separation:

Slick plate allows lighter material to advance ahead. Exiting the gate, materials are separated even further and distributed in order of specific gravity on the vortex matting.

2nd Degree of Separation:

Gated trough forces all material under the gate. AKA G-Force

3rd Degree of Separation:

Vortex Matting creates hundreds of small low pressure zones driving gold deep and forcing lighter material into the flow. All material and water (slurry) is forced under the gate and forced under water, even floating gold (from oils). At the exit of the trough, a column is formed. The lightest materials will be lifted highest and the heaviest material lowest, thus separated by order of specific gravity. Gold will be the first to reach the Vortex Matting and lighter sands will flush out or be replaced by anything heavier.

Vortex Properties:

Each square inch of Vortex Matting contains 49 individual low pressure zones that work similar to a tornado. That’s over 7,000 per individual matt! A 3 stack Cube has over 14, 000 Vortex pockets and a 4 stack Cube has over 21,000! As the gold gets lodged into the tornado, the low pressure drives it to the bottom, forcing black sand and other heavies out of the way. Yes gold is a bully and stubborn. The only way it’s going to leave the vortex is when you clean it out. This is why we can run thousands of pounds through a Gold Cube and still only get a cup or two of black sand and gold. Gold doesn’t stand a chance of getting washed out. No catch and release on this trip!
