General Manager for IRL Supplies (Prince George)
IRL Supplies is a vibrant 60 year old company serving professionals in the Forestry, Mineral Exploration, Survey and Engineering industries in Canada and around the world from our locations in Prince George, BC and Saskatoon, SK. We are customer service driven business developed by and sustained by establishing quality relationships with the people and companies that purchase from us. IRL also has a strong manufacturing division (in Prince George) for a number of different products including Flagging Tape, Snowshoes and Silviculture Truck Canopies.
We are seeking an experienced, energetic general manager with excellent interpersonal skills to help guide IRL as it continues to grow into the future. The qualified individual will be a creative thinker who is driven to see continual growth for themselves, the company and those in it, they will have a proven record in managing and coaching people on an individual basis and in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Providing direction for the company’s Prince George location (15 to 20 employees)
Taking the lead in business planning and promoting growth strategies
The ability to write and execute business plans following the company’s Vision & Mission
Fostering a positive company culture
Overseeing management staff that look after the day to day operations
Managing and providing direction for outside sales staff
Overseeing inventory management, purchasing and manufacturing of IRL brand products
Analyzing financial statements
Provide regular business progress reports and sales reports to the company owner
Assisting in the day to day work of the company as and when required.
Qualifications & Assets
-Minimum of 5 years experience as a General Manager or similar or;
-Minimum of 10 years experience with a combination of management roles
-Outside Sales experience
-Must be knowledgeable with analyzing financial statements
-Extensive experience in inventory management.
-Experience in establishing selling prices, tracking margins, sales analysis and negotiating product costs
-Proven record building and managing teams as well as individuals
-Field work experience highly beneficial particularly in Forestry (RPF or similar)(or alternately field geologist, environmental or Engineering).
-University or college degree, diploma or certificate related to business, management or financial management an asset
-An effective communicator, verbally and in writing, and proficient with common computer skills
